High Street in Urbana Illinois holds an important relic: a house where literary genius Rabindranath Tagore resided during an extended visit to the University of Illinois from 1912 to 1913. The Tagore House Initiative is an organization committed to the restoration and establishment of this important historical site. We are writing to request your help in preserving and develop this site into a place where Tagore’s vision and influence can live on. We are currently working to have this house recognized as a Historic Landmark. Through the efforts of our organization this house will become a vibrant sanctuary of art, culture, creative minds, and visionaries.
